About Me

I am a Software Engineer at Covalent helping to solve the data infrastructure problems that are inhibiting the adoption of decentralized technologies. I hold dual degrees in electrical engineering and finance from the University of Calgary. Previous experience includes FinTech research, co-founding an equine wearables startup, strategy development as a business analyst, and field engineering in the oil and gas industry.

Passionate about how we can bridge engineering and business to solve some of the world's most important problems.

Skills

Programming languages and other fields I am experienced in.

Python

Experience writing in Python for back-end web servers and a variety of scripting jobs. Familiar with libraries such as flask, django, pandas, and numpy.

Java

I write in Java 8+ extensively for my work with Covalent. We place a high emphasis on writing performant code to ensure our products can scale efficiently with load.

Web3

I am interested in blockchain technologies and passionate about the ideals they support. I am fortunate to have been able to work directly with such technology through my work at Covalent and the University of Calgary.

C/C++

I have used C and C++ to program microcontrollers such as the STM32, ESP-8266, and ATmega328. Projects include a bespoke automotive power distribution module, a WiFi-enabled smart thermostat, and a wireless tire temperature and pressure monitoring system.

SQL

I have worked with a variety of SQL technologies including Snowflake, Clickhouse, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite. My experience at Covalent has helped me learn how to write complex queries optimized for performance.

MATLAB

I used MATLAB extensively for course work in engineering and have also used MATLAB for some interesting projects I did with the Schulich Formula Racing Team.

CAD

I have worked on numerous CAD projects using SolidWorks software. The parts I designed have been manufactured using tools like 3D printers and water jets.

Financial Analysis

I have taken numerous undergraduate finance courses and have been able to apply the models and techniques I practiced to my work at EECOL Electric.
